Amazon is shaking up the annual sale landscape — again. The retailer just announced Prime Big Deal Days, a complement to their massive Prime Day event, which took place back in July. The new sale is slated for October 10th and 11th and will be exclusive to Prime members.
Expect to see discounts on a wide variety of products, including cutting-edge tech, apparel, home goods, and more. As with Prime Day, the best deals often sell out quickly, so mark your calendar and keep an eye on the Amazon Deals page for up-to-date info. With the holiday season around the corner, this is the perfect opportunity to get ahead on your gift shopping.
Playing Monopoly: FTC Files New Suit Against Amazon
Amazon is in hot water! The Federal Trade Commission has filed a new antitrust lawsuit against Amazon, alleging abuse of powers, specifically in regard to anti-discounting tactics that punish sellers and harm shoppers. In a statement, the Deputy Director of the FTC’s Bureau of Competition argued that the popular site’s "illegal conduct has stifled competition across a huge swath of the online economy.
Don’t expect the retail juggernaut to disappear any time soon, though. One analyst referred to the lawsuit as “relatively benign” and noted that, in all likelihood, the lawsuit will result in small changes to pricing, shipping requirements, and more accurate search results.
Looking to level up your ROAS? Shopify Audiences just got a major update with version 2.1. Alongside improved algorithms and a new benchmarking feature that allows users to compare ad performance with competitors, the updated Audiences now supports additional platforms, including TikTok and Snapchat.
Shopify Audiences first launched in May of 2022 and has become a critical tool for E-commerce sellers thanks to its custom-built audience lists and personalized insights. One of the most important foundations of any successful E-commerce business is precise ad targeting, and Audiences make use of a variety of key data points to help sellers reach the right customers. Audiences remain free for Plus merchants who use Shopify Payments and operate in the US or Canada.
Try this. Rather than sticking to traditional credit card payments, expand your payment options to include services like Apple Pay and PayPal. This will make the checkout process more seamless for your customers, regardless of which payment method they prefer.
FUN FACT
In the US, the average conversion rate for E-Commerce sites is 2.3%.
