A New Breed of Ad Firm: Best Buy Creates Its Own Multimedia Firm
Best Buy is ready to "sell" you stuff! In an effort to keep up with the ever-growing digital age, Best Buy has created its own in-house multimedia firm: Best Buy Ads. Following the announcement of an in-house media operation at Best Buy, the electronics chain formalizes its advertising offerings amid a surge in retail media marketing, which eMarketer expects will increase 31.4% to $41.37 billion in 2022.
The firm claims to have 3 billion interactions with consumers each year, which it says allows it to connect businesses and customers at various times and places as they become more reliant on technology.
Marketplaces are Where the Action Is: Here's Why Shoppers Prefer Marketplaces
The marketplace model is winning! According to a poll conducted by Mirakl, a marketplace technology firm, consumers across the world prefer e-commerce platforms that feature multi-merchant markets. The 9,000 consumers from nine different countries who participated in the poll said better pricing (62%), wider product range (53%), and a wider selection of delivery options (43%) are the top reasons for choosing marketplaces.
In fact, the most frequent online shoppers have a stronger preference for marketplaces. Based on Mirakl's survey, almost three-quarters of "power shoppers" - those who buy online at least once a week - would love to see more of their favorite retailers to offer marketplaces.
It's no secret that Google is the king of search engines, with nearly two-thirds (64%) of e-commerce traffic coming from them with 21% coming from PPC ads.
