The Perfect Fit: Menswear Brand Uses AI-Powered Online Fitting Tool
No more guesstimates! Menswear company, Otero, is integrating an AI-powered online fitting tool to help customers find the perfect fit. According to the CEO and co-founder Dave Sharma's statement to Digital Commerce 360, Otero employs Perfitly, an AI fitting tool that lets shoppers try on clothes virtually, mirroring the experience of a physical fitting room in a retail store.
According to Sharma, Perfitly can generate a 3D avatar of a user using full-body images with an accuracy rate of about 98%. Once the avatar is created, customers can use it to digitally try on various clothing items in different sizes. The avatar can be rotated and zoomed in on, and the AI provides size recommendations based on the customer's measurements. The clothing is displayed using 3D digital assets provided by the retailer, which take into account the properties of the fabric. The tool can also create avatars using data inputs from customers, such as in the case of Otero.
Perfitly aims to replicate the in-store shopping experience in order to decrease returns and increase conversions. As per their data, the average conversion rate was raised by 80%, from 4% to 7.2%, and returns were reduced by 67%, from 28% to 10%.
